Catalog Management

Contributors

Manage the people behind the music. Track songwriters, producers, and musicians with precision using industry-standard identifiers.

1

The Role of Contributors

Contributors are individuals who participate in the creation of a track but are not necessarily the main performing artist. Correctly crediting them is crucial for royalty collection and legal compliance.

Songwriters

Composers and lyricists who own the publishing rights to the song.

Producers

Technical and creative directors of the recording session.

Session Musicians

Guitarists, vocalists, or instrumentalists hired for the recording.

2

Industry Identifiers

To ensure accurate royalty distribution, we support standard music industry identifiers. You can find these fields in the "Identifiers" ID card of any Contributor profile.

IPI

Interested Parties Information

A unique number assigned to songwriters and publishers by PROs (like BMI, ASCAP, SGAE). Essential for publishing royalties.

ISNI

International Standard Name Identifier

A global standard for uniquely identifying public figures and creators across databases (Wikipedia, MusicBrainz, libraries).

Custom ID

Internal Reference / Custom ID

Use this field for your label's internal tracking, Tax IDs, Passport Numbers, or legacy database codes. This ensures you always have a way to match our data with your offline records.

Example: LABEL-001-A

Management Tips

  • Credits (Tracks): In the list view, the "Credits" column shows exactly how many tracks a contributor is linked to. This helps identify your most frequent collaborators.
  • Reusability: Create a contributor once, and reuse them across unlimited tracks. Updating their IPI code updates it for all future reports.
  • Merge Strategy: If you accidentally create duplicates (e.g., "John Doe" and "J. Doe"), manually update all tracks to the correct profile before deleting the duplicate.
